Matchday 6 – Finn Harps v Kerry FC

Matchday 35 – Finn Harps v Kerry FC

And then there were two. Two games in 5 days spread from Donegal to Wicklow, the curtain comes down on Kerry FC’s season this coming Friday. But before a trip to the seaside in Bray, Kerry has the not-so-short return journey to the north-west and to Ballybofey, where we face Finn Harps tomorrow evening at 7:45.

In a game that was rescheduled due to Kerry’s progression to the semi-final of the Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup, it could have meant a whole lot more a couple of weeks ago. With both sides sitting well outside of the play-off spots, it’s more playing for pride on Monday night under the lights. Kerry sits 3 points behind Finn Harps, so a victory on the road could set Kerry up for an 8th-place finish, but it will take plenty of goals to outdo the goal difference between the sides or for Kerry to win both games and hope Finn Harps finish the season with two straight defeats.

It was a disappointing end to the Mounthawk Park campaign for Kerry FC on Friday night, losing 2-0 to play-off hopefuls Wexford FC who scored two goals in as many minutes to dismantle any hopes of a final home win of the season. So Kerry will be looking to bounce back this week to end the season on a high note.
