Ewan Lee extends Mounthawk stay as he signs a new contract for 2025

Kerry FC is delighted to confirm that defender Ewan Lee has signed a new contract with the club, which will keep him in the Kingdom ahead of the 2026 campaign.

Lee, who was one of Colin Healy’s first signings during the summer transfer window, was impressive as he made the step up from the Munster Senior League to the League of Ireland for the first time with his move from UCC to the Kingdom. The 22-year-old Corkman went on to make 11 appearances for Kerry FC in the second half of the 2025 campaign, scoring his first League of Ireland goal in a 1-1 draw away to Treaty United. Ewan was cup-tied for the club’s historic run to the semi-final, but played all 90 minutes in all his 11 appearances for the club, proving to be an important cog in the wheel for Colin Healy’s side.

Ewan Lee joins fellow summer signing Matt Connor and Niall Brookwell in confirming their stays in Mounthawk Park ahead of the 2026 League of Ireland season, which gets underway in mid-February.

Speaking after he penned a new deal with the Kingdom, Ewan Lee said, “I’m delighted to have signed for next season. This is a club which is only moving in one direction, and I’m looking forward to being part of that once more. Hopefully, we can keep moving forward and build on what the club achieved last season. I’ve really enjoyed my time so far with the club, and I’m excited to get going again with the new season.”

Also speaking after Ewan re-signed for the 2026 campaign, First Team Manager Colin Healy said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to have Ewan re-signed for the upcoming campaign. I think the numbers do all the talking for the impact he had with us in the last couple of months of the 2025 campaign. He made a massive step up from the Munster Senior League to the First Division, which isn’t easy, but he fit in from the very start and proved his work-rate and professionalism very quickly. I look forward to having a full pre-season with him before we head into the new season and I’ve no doubt he will be a vital player for us again in 2026.”
