Harry Halwax secures Kingdom switch from Longford Town

Kerry FC are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Harry Halwax, who signs for the Kingdom after an impressive season with Longford Town in 2025.

The 23-year-old Dublin native will be a familiar face to Kerry FC fans from his time with Longford, where he made 42 appearances for the fellow SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division outfit. He also has previous First Division experience with Cabinteely, where he played 13 league games in 2021.

Halwax also enjoyed some time cross-channel with Derby County at Under 18, 19 and 21 levels, winning the English Youth League in 2019. Harry also had a spell at Queens Park Rangers during his spell in England.

Harry Halwax will bring a wealth of experience to the side, with over 50 appearances at this level over the last number of years and joins Matt Connor in Kerry’s goalkeeper armoury for 2026. Harry also represented the Republic of Ireland at Under 16, 17 & 18 levels.

Speaking after he arrived in Mounthawk Park, Harry Halwax told kerryfc.com, “I’m really excited to be joining Kerry for the 2026 season. After having conversations with Billy and Colin, and the FAI Cup success the club had last season, I knew it would be the right club for me. I’m buzzing to meet the players and start the new season, and hopefully it’s a successful one. Looking forward to seeing all the Kerry fans in 2026!”

Also speaking after securing Harry Halwax’s services for 2026, First Team Manager Colin Healy said, “We are delighted to have Harry Halwax signed up for the 2026 campaign. A very strong, young goalkeeper who has plenty of experience at this level. We want good competition between our goalkeepers for places in the squad, and adding Harry now will really strengthen our position between the sticks. I’m looking forward to getting him down to Kerry and onto the training pitch in the coming weeks.”
