Following yesterday’s announcement that our license application was successful, the press gathered in Mounthawk Park to find out more about the project.
Our full board were in attendance at the conference, which includes Brian Ainscough (CEO), Steven Conway (C.O.O), Sean O’Keeffe (General Manager), Billy Dennehy (Director of Football) and Geraldine Nagle (Match Day Operations).
Billy Dennehy, known mostly for his time playing football here at home and in England has been integral to the set-up and formation of Kerry FC. Billy played with Kerry underage before having to leave the county in search of senior football. “It really is a dream come true for me. This opportunity was not here for me at the start of my career and it’s great that children in Kerry now have a senior team to aspire to play on” he said. Billy added “It has been a long journey, probably a venture that for many years was out of reach in this county. But we have shown through our underage structure, that now is the time to give them the chance at senior level.
It is set to be a busy few months behind the scenes as the finishing touches are applied to get the show on the road.
