Kerry FC are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Antonio Tuta from Finn Harps ahead of the 2024 SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division campaign.
Tuta, a Croatian national, becomes the clubs 5th signing of the winter transfer window. The 28year old has vast experience of the game and before arriving in Donegal, his most recent spell on the books was with HRV Dragovolijac in Croatia. He also had stints in Iceland, Slovenia, Austria and Bulgaria before his arrival in Finn Park.
Tuta signed for the Northwesterners in August and played some 7 games under the club’s former manager Dave Rogers. Antonio will be remembered by the Kerry faithful as he guarded the sticks against the league’s newcomers in Finn Park in September, saving a penalty on route to a narrow victory for the Harps.
Speaking to kerryfc.com after his arrival in Mounthawk Park, Antonio Tuta said “I’m delighted to have signed for Kerry FC and become a member of the Kerry family. I hope that we will have a good year together. I came to Kerry with the ambition to fight for the play-offs and to help the team with my experience. I know that the team is very young and that for this kind of league you also need experience. Having played in the league last year, I already know what the division is all about and how we can pick up points! I must say a massive thanks to Conor McCarthy who showed a great desire for me to come and play for Kerry. That’s why I decided to come to Kerry with the agreement of my agent, to whom I also thank. I can’t wait to meet all the fans!”
Also speaking to kerryfc.com after Tuta’s arrival in the Kingdom, First Team Head Coach Conor McCarthy said “We are delighted to sign Antonio for the new season. He’s a player who we hope can add some valuable experience from his career so far to the group and push us forward for the season. Having already spoken to Antonio, he’s really looking forward to getting on the pitch, getting to work with us and meeting his new teammates. He is a really exciting addition to the squad and I am looking forward to seeing him on the pitch soon.”
