Kerry Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of young Finnish centre-forward Eemeli Honkola. Honkola signs for the Kingdom from Finnish top-tier side SJK Seinäjoki.
The 20-year-old centre forward is a welcome addition to Conor McCarthy’s charges for the 2025 season and has arrived in the Kingdom ready to make an impact in the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division.
Eemeli Honkola made the step up to senior football in 2021, where he scored just 19 minutes into his senior debut with SJK Seinäjoki. Since then, Honkola has gone on to score 24 goals in 64 appearances for the club’s first team as well as the SJK Seinäjoki II and III sides.
Speaking after he arrived in Kerry, Eemeli Honkola told kerryfc.com, “It’s great to be here, and it’s been nice to join the team. I am very happy about this opportunity, and hopefully, I can help the team. I’m looking forward to seeing you all in the Mounthawk Park.”
Also speaking after Eemeli Honkola signed for the Kingdom, Kerry FC Manager Conor McCarthy said, “We are delighted to have Eemeli with us here in Kerry FC. He is a player that the management team have had their eye on for a while and it’s great to have him here in the Kingdom. You can see by his numbers that he has a proven track record in front of goal, and I hope that continues during his time with us here in Kerry FC. He is another great asset to have, and I am looking forward to working with him while he pushes for his place in the squad.”
