Kerry Football Club is delighted to announce that goalkeeper Connal Doran has signed for the club ahead of the 2025 SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division season.
Connal, a native of county Mayo, started his career with Salthill Devon before moving into the Galway United Under 19 squad before also being in and around the first team squad that, in 2022, made it to the playoffs and won the First Division title in 2023. The now 20-year-old, switched to US side Iowa Lakes Lakers, a college side across the Atlantic.
But Connal makes the return to Ireland for 2025 and is a welcome addition to Conor McCarthy’s squad ahead of the new season.
Speaking to kerryfc.com following his signing for the club, Connal Doran said, “I’m delighted to have signed with Kerry FC! This talented squad aligns with my determination, ambition, and work ethic, and I can’t wait to be a part of it. I’m looking forward to contributing to the team and working alongside my teammates and coaches. Everyone at the club has given me a very warm welcome, and I’m very excited to get to Mounthawk Park to see all the fans. I’m delighted to be here and look forward to a great season with the club!”
Also speaking to kerryfc.com following his signing, First Team Manager Conor McCarthy said “We are delighted to have Connal onboard for the 2025 season. Connal came into us on a trial period and has impressed during his time in training with us. Despite not making his debut in the league, you can see he is a young talented goalkeeper who wants to make an impact here in Kerry. He is a fantastic shot stopper and at well over 6 foot in height, he comes with an all-round package that we are looking for.”
