Kerry FC are delighted to announce the signing of the former Dundalk FC and Welsh International Joe Adams ahead of the 2025 SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division season, subject to international clearance.
Joe, who is 23 and from Bolton in England but holds Welsh citizenship, has previous experience playing football at the top level in Ireland when he made 34 appearances for Dundalk FC during the 2022 SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division season. Joe Adams has a wealth of experience in the game. Learning his trade with the Bury Academy, Adams made his Sky Bet League One debut with the first team in 2018 before departing Giggs Lane in July 2019 as the club’s Under 18 Player of the Year. Brentford was next up for Joe where he played for the B side and made 65 appearances over 3 years until 2022. He also played for League 2 side Grimsby Town on loan. The move cross-channel to Ireland happened in 2022, while over the last two seasons, he has played at several non-league clubs, including Southport.
Joe was a Welsh International and represented Wales at Under 17 19, 20 and 21 levels, winning 26 caps and scoring 7 goals for his country. A key figure for his country, he scored for Wales against the Republic of Ireland back in 2021.
Speaking to kerryfc.com after arriving in the Kingdom, Joe Adams said “Can’t wait to get started here in Kerry. I’m excited for the challenge and season ahead in the Kingdom. A massive thanks to all the lads and staff for being so welcoming and I can’t wait to run out in Mounthawk Park in front of the supporters”
Also speaking to kerryfc.com after Joe Adams signed for the club, Manager Conor McCarthy said “We are delighted to welcome Joe to the squad. He brings a huge wealth of experience to the side. Obviously, during his time in Dundalk, he learned a lot about the game here in Ireland and played at a really high level here. His time with Wales underage is also invaluable and playing both League One and League Two football shows the calibre of player we have landed here in Kerry. He has already added a huge amount to our sessions and I can’t wait to see him in a Kerry jersey soon.”
