In an announcement by the League of Ireland this morning, Kerry FC will start their first-ever SSE Airtricity First Division season with a home fixture against Munster rivals Cobh Ramblers.
Kerry FC will welcome the Claret and Blue army to Mounthawk Park on the league’s opening night, which is Friday, February 17th with the kick-off time set for 19:45.
It is a welcome boost to the club on what now will be a historic occasion for 2 reasons; in that, it is the club’s first-ever game in the division and the first SSE Airtricity First Division game to be played in the Kingdom.
As an added benefit, the game will add an extra bit of spice as it is the first of 3 Munster Derbies to take place in the league with Waterford FC and Treaty United (Limerick) also seen as big Munster rivalries to Kerry FC.
Cobh Ramblers finished bottom of the 2022 First Division in 9th place. Famously known as the club that developed future Manchester United captain Roy Keane, the Cork outfit has a fine squad of players ready and waiting to take on the newest team in the league in the season opener.
Speaking on the fixture announcement, Kerry FC General Manager Sean O Keeffe said “It is extremely exciting to see Kerry FC on an official fixture list and it is another milestone day in the club’s history. Season Tickets are selling extremely well and I would encourage anyone who hasn’t bought one yet to not delay to secure the best seat in the house for what will be a landmark day for Kerry FC and is looking likely to be a complete sell-out.”
Also just announced – Kerry FC will be away to Wexford FC on St Patrick’s Day 2023, kick off at 19.45.
Season Ticket prices start from €90 and are the ideal gift for any football fan in the county this season. Season Tickets can be purchased at www.kerryfc.com/season-tickets/ and game-by-game tickets will be on sale in the weeks leading up to each game.
