Matchday 1 – Kerry FC v Bray Wanderers

Matchday 1 – Kerry FC v Bray Wanderers

The Kingdom return home for the first time this season tomorrow evening as they host Wicklow-based Bray Wanderers in Mounthawk Park.

Having started the season away from home in Turners Cross last week, Conor McCarthy’s charges will take to the pitch in Mounthawk Park for the first time in the 2024 LOI season.

Off the back of a 2-0 opening night defeat to title favourites Cork City, Kerry will be looking for their first goal and points of the new campaign against a tricky Bray Wanderers side who got the better of the Kingdom on all 4 occasions in 2023. Bray Wanderers themselves went down by 2 goals to 1 at home to the students of UCD AFC in Matchday 1 so will come to Tralee in the hope of securing their first points of the new season as well.

Injury update

In his pre-match press conference, First Team Head Coach Conor McCarthy reported no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game tomorrow night. Jack Kavanagh, who missed the trip to Cork with a hamstring injury will be subject to a late fitness test for this game. Valerii Dolia remains ruled out with a foot injury.

‘What they said’

Conor McCarthy – “If you take the foot off the pedal in this league you can get hurt very quickly. So it’s important going into this game against Bray that we are on it for 90 to 95 minutes, whatever minutes go up on the board and hopefully we can get a result”
