Kerry continues on a run of Friday nights in Mounthawk Park with the visit of Athlone Town to Tralee tomorrow night.
August is a particularly busy month for the Kingdom, with 6 games scheduled between tomorrow evening and the end of the month, with two of those games away from home. The visit of Athlone Town tomorrow night marks the first of two games in 4 days for Colin Healy’s men, and the final double game weekend of the season, with a trip to Limerick to face Treaty United coming up on Monday afternoon.
Kerry comes into this game on a poor run of form, losing the last 5 league games in succession. Some consolation for the Kerry faithful is that the Kingdom knocked Athlone Town out of the cup in Tralee two weeks ago. Kerry had the brilliance of Joe Adams to thank for what was a brilliant free kick in the 96th minute to force extra time and an eventual win over the Midlanders to progress to the last 16.
Athlone, meanwhile, sit at the basement of the First Division, 4 points adrift of Kerry FC in the race to avoid the wooden spoon. Athlone are without a win since the 9th of May and will be looking to the game to restart their season with 12 games remaining. They went 2-0 up away to Treaty United last weekend, but second-half goals from the host ensured the points were shared. This game always produces goals, so expect a thriller in Mounthawk!

Injury Update

New signings Matthew Connor, Ewan Lee and Luke Doolan are all available for selection after joining the club on transfer deadline day.
What they said?
Colin Healy – “We are all in it together, it doesn’t matter if you are winning or losing. I want to take this club forward; everybody has to be in it together. That’s at training sessions, on match nights, everybody is together, and we all have to be pushing in the right way. I know it might be difficult at the moment, but it will change. I know coming into this job it’s going to take time. There will be ups and downs, that’s football, and it’s all part of it, but going forward, everybody has to be with us, and that’s the only way that we can change these results around.”
