Record turnout for Kerry FC’s 2025 Celebration and Awards night in Tralee

Players, supporters and volunteers dropped the football kits for the glad rags on Friday night as the club united as one at the 2025 Kerry FC Celebration night, which took place in the Rose Hotel in Tralee on Friday night.

With over 200 guests in attendance, it was a fantastic evening as we celebrated a record-breaking season for the club both on and off the field. The club won their first piece of League of Ireland Silverware with victory in the EA Sports LOI Academy MU20 Shield competition, while our MU15s and MU14s brought home winners’ trophies from the London Pro-Elite Cups on the August Bank Holiday Weekend. All 3 trophies were proudly on display in front of the stage on the night. It was also a season to remember for our senior side, who recorded their highest league finish with a record points total, all while reaching the last 4 of the Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup. The night was MC’d by club media officer and Radio Kerry presenter Ivan Hurley, who kept the crowd entertained throughout the evening.

Award Winners

The club’s special merit award was presented to the Tralee Gladiators Football For All team, who joined forces with Kerry FC in the off-season. They instantly became part of the Kerry FC community in Mounthawk Park and the group has been growing from strength the strength ever since.

5 awards were presented for our Academy team’s Players of the Year.

Iarla O’Donovan won the MU14 award but was absent on the night after undergoing a successful ACL surgery earlier in the day. The club wish him a speedy recovery.

MU15 captain Ryan McDonnell was crowned Under 15 Player of the Year as he led his side to glory in England in August.

Aideen Riedy was presented with the WU17 POTY award after an outstanding first season with Kerry FC.

Ethan Ballard won the MU17 accolade while Shayne Stack took home the MU20 honours, after scoring 3 goals on Kerry’s way to victory last month.

Senior Awards

Cian Brosnan won the 2025 Goal of the Season title with his super volley against Cobh Ramblers in the Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup 3rd Round. The Tralee man won with over 50% of the fan vote and made it two Goal of the Season awards in as many seasons for the fan favourite.

Ronan Teahan was voted as the Supporters’ Player of the Season after another impressive campaign for the Cahersiveen native. Again, with a large supporter-led vote, Ronan was well received by the crowd gathered in the Lee Suite of the Rose Hotel on Friday night.

Niall Brookwell won the 2025 Senior Player of the Season. The Wigan native impressed in his first year in Mounthawk Park, scoring 3 goals from his defensive position. A leader on and off the field, Niall was a deserving winner of the ultimate prize. Absent on the night, Niall’s award was collected by club captain Sean McGrath.

The final award of the evening was the inaugural ‘Alfie’ Award, a prize to recognise the hard work and commitment of Kerry FC’s match night volunteers. Adrian O’Connor, a dedicated volunteer for 3 years, sadly passed away during the season, but his memory will live long in the hearts of everyone in Kerry FC. Mark Nolan was presented with the award by Adrian’s daughter, Carmel and our Matchday Operations Manager, Gerardine Nagle.

Kerry FC would like to thank the Rose Hotel for hosting the evening, and a massive thanks to everyone who made the effort to attend the night and make it another memorable evening for the football club.
