Daniel Okwute signs new contract with Kerry FC

Kerry Football Club is delighted to confirm that Killarney native Daniel Okwute has signed a new deal with the Kingdom, which will see him stay in Mounthawk Park for the 2026 season.

Okwute, who is 22, rejoins Colin Healy’s charges ahead of the new campaign. The Killarney winger re-joined his native Kerry in the summer of 2023 after a spell in England with Stockport in the UK and a loan move to Finn Harps.

Since then, Okwute has gone on to make 80 appearances for Kerry FC, scoring 7 goals for the Kingdom and assisting on 15 occasions. Okwute was instrumental in a number of games, including netting the winner in our 4-3 victory over Sligo Rovers in the Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup Quarter Final last September.

Speaking after penning a new deal in Mounthawk Park, Daniel Okwute told kerryfc.com, “Really glad to have signed back with Kerry FC for the upcoming season. I’m looking forward to getting back into pre-season training and meeting the boys again. Should be another great year in 2026, and let’s see what happens!”

Also speaking after Daniel re-committed to the Kingdom for 2026, First Team Manager Colin Healy said, “It’s great to have Daniel signed back for the 2026 campaign, and hopefully it will be a big season for him. He’s got lots of potential, and I’m looking forward to having him in for pre-season. With that under his belt, he can hit the ground running at the start of the new campaign.”
