Kerry FC can confirm that Finn Barrett has re-signed for the club ahead of the 2026 SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division campaign.
The 19-year-old Ballinskelligs native made the step up to senior football from our Academy in the middle of the 2024 season. Finn has gone on to make 32 appearances for his home club in that short space of time, proving a versatile defender for Colin Healy, playing at both left and right back throughout the season. Barrett was instrumental in Kerry FC’s FAI Cup run in 2025, playing all 4 games on the road to the semi-final.
Speaking after he re-signed for the club, Finn Barrett told KerryFC.com, “I’m delighted to have signed for the upcoming season. I can’t wait to build on a good year and push on even further in 2026. It’s clear there’s only one way this club is going, and I’m excited to be a part of it. I’m looking forward to the new season kicking off and to be playing in front of the fans again in Mounthawk Park.”
Also speaking after his re-signing, First Team Manager Colin Healy said, “It’s great to have Finn back and ready to go once again in 2026. A young player, but he comes with a wealth of experience over the last 18 months or so. You can see his confidence in defence and when he is in possession. He had a really good season and went on to help the MU20s secure the Shield title late in the season. I’m looking forward to working with Finn again when pre-season gets underway, and I’ve no doubt we will see plenty more from him in 2026.”
