The First Division season doesn’t get much busier than this week as teams embark on their 1st game in just 7 days tomorrow night, with the Kingdom hosting Bray Wanderers tomorrow night before away trips to Cobh Ramblers (Monday) and Wexford FC (Friday) to cap off a busy mid-June of Kerry FC.
The reversal of this fixture in the early stages of the season was a dramatic affair to put it lightly. 2 certain penalty claims for the Kingdom were waved away and the frustration was felt from all 4 corners of Mounthawk Park. The Kingdom will be looking to put that right tomorrow evening. It’s been a strong couple of weeks for Kerry FC, with just 1 defeat in Colin Healy’s tenure coming against league leaders Dundalk in Oriel Park. A point on the road away to Athlone last week saw the Kingdom come back from the break with a hard-earned point on the road, but will feel disappointed not to have had taken all 3 points home from the Midlands.
As for Bray Wanderers, they suffered a 2-1 away defeat to Treaty United last week and will be looking to get back on track tomorrow evening in Tralee. In their last 6 games, they’ve 2 wins, a draw and 3 defeats, but still sit comfortably in the play-off spots and if results go their way, they could end up in 2nd place come 10pm tomorrow evening.

Injury Update
Ahead of a busy week, Colin Healy has given an injury update with his squad. Ryan Kelliher is a long-term absentee for the Kingdom. Joe Adams remains out. Carl Mujaguzi is back training this week and may be in contention for Friday but with a number of important games coming up in quick succession, nobody will be rushed back too quickly.
What they said?
Colin Healy – “Friday will be a tough game, but the players are looking forward to it. If we get a good crowd in and get behind the players, it’s so important for us. Our full focus is on Friday night. We’ve got a game plan, and we focus on ourselves. Obviously, we have done our homework on Bray as well; they are quick in transition. But we need to be right ourselves, and if our players are at it, we can go out and get the 3 points.”
