After recording the biggest win in the club’s history on Friday night, there is no time to celebrate for the Kingdom as the Bank Holiday Monday ushers in another game with the Kingdom making the short trip to neighbours Treaty United in the Markets Field tomorrow evening.
4 goals scored and none conceded was the perfect response from the Kerry players to a tough run of form in the league. Robbie Cleary impressed with a goal and two assists, while Ronan Teahan scored his first-ever League of Ireland goal for the Kingdom. New goalkeeper Matt Connor earned a clean sheet on his first time of asking for Kerry, which was well received by the Kerry faithful. Ewan Lee also impressed in his first-ever game at this level, having signed from Munster Senior League side UCC.
Treaty United, meanwhile, suffered a very late defeat at the hands of Bray Wanderers in the Carlisle Grounds. The Limerick side were successful in their appeal of Steven Healy’s dubious red card, the former Kerry player available for selection tomorrow night.
Kerry won the last meeting of the sides, Chris McQueen scoring the only goal of the game in Mounthawk Park back in May. But Kerry’s form in the Markets Field hasn’t been great, Kerry only leaving the Treaty county with a single point on 5 attempts, so Colin Healy will be hoping for a change come 7 pm on Monday evening.

Kerry’s dismantling of Athlone Town on Friday night was the club’s biggest ever win in the League of Ireland in our short history. But Kerry have won 4-0 in the past. The Kingdom defeated Treaty United by 4 goals to nil in the Munster Senior Cup back in 2024
Injury Update
Colin Healy reported a relatively full bill of health ahead of the trip to the Markets Field tomorrow. Arran Healy suffered a blow shortly after coming on during Friday’s victory over Athlone and will be assessed. Ryan Kelliher and Nathan Gleeson remain long term absentees while Tim-Oliver Hiemer is still recovering from his broken finger. Niall Brookwell serves the final game of his suspension on Monday
What they said?
Colin Healy – “We are expecting another tough game against Treaty on Monday night. It’s in and recover on Saturday and train on Sunday for the away trip Monday. We will have to see regarding the personnel, the lads put in a big shift tonight (Friday), so we will just assess the situation over the weekend and look to go again on Monday.”
