Kerry FC v Treaty Utd

Matchday 4 Preview – Treaty United v Kerry FC

There is a sense of spring in the air in the Kingdom, with Kerry’s first dry day of 2026 coming on Wednesday last, things look brighter both on and off the pitch as we head towards St. Patrick’s Day.

The Kingdom have their first point on the board, and despite the hope for 3 points, the performance was a big improvement to the opening two games of the season.

The Kingdom embark on two away trips now in 7 days, starting with the Munster Derby in the Markets Field tomorrow night, before the long spin to the sunny south-east next week to take on Wexford FC.

It’s fair to say both teams haven’t started the season on the note they had hoped, Treaty United sitting at the bottom of the table, with 3 defeats from 3 and yet to score a goal. Kerry, meanwhile, just sit a point ahead of their Limerick neighbours, but have managed to score 2 goals in the opening 3 games.

So all that said, both teams will be eying tomorrow night’s game as a chance to jumpstart their 2026 campaigns, with plenty on the line so early in the season.

‘What they said’
Colin Healy
– “It’s a tough week, it is, but it’s a challenge for the players, and it’s something they should enjoy. Going to Treaty, I know they haven’t had the best start, but they’ve got a very good manager, and, like us, they’ve brought in a lot of players, so they are getting used to things as well. But for us, our players should be relishing the challenge of going to Treaty and go out to put on a big performance and get a result. Obviously, it’s the same story going to Wexford next week; they should relish the challenge and want to play these games every week.”
