Vincent Borden makes the switch from Galway to the Kingdom

Kerry FC are delighted to announce the signing of Galway United midfielder Vincent Borden ahead of the 2026 campaign.

Borden, a US native, makes the switch from Premier Division side Galway United to Kerry FC ahead of the new season in an exciting addition to Colin Healy’s charges for the upcoming First Division season.

Vincent, who is 26 and from New York, played 96 games for Galway United since signing for the Westerners back in 2023, including over 50 appearances in the Premier Division. In his first season with Galway United, he won the First Division title, firing home 10 goals in a season they dominated from start to finish. The central midfielder went on to prove a vital player for Galway, securing their Premier Division status in both 2024 and 2025.

Prior to his time with Galway United, Borden played for a number of teams in his native America, including MLS side New York Red Bulls, as well as the Slovenian side NK Rudar Velenje, from whom he signed for Galway United.

Speaking after he arrived in the Kingdom, Vincent Borden told kerryfc.com, “I’m excited to join Kerry FC for the 2026 season. I can’t wait to get to know the club and meet the players and staff. Hope to start the season strong!”

Also speaking after his signing, First Team Manager Colin Healy said, “We are thrilled to get Vince signed up and ready for the new season with us. He’s a proven midfielder in the League and brings huge experience from both the Premier Division and a winning First Division dressing room to our side as well. I’m looking forward to seeing him in Kerry and working alongside him on the training pitch. He will be exciting to work with in 2026.”
